neanderthal marriages
TerryDecember 31, 2010 0 comments

am an ardent listener to the Morning & Drive shows  on Classic 105, the call-in topics especially of late have been on the shenanigans of  'marriage' &relationships.

there's a man who shot his wife on the leg coz he saw another man talk to her, another brought a woman for a 'sleep-over' in full view of the maid while the wife was at a kesha, a man locked his wife in the house and went philandering in Coast with his clande, the now famous Kihara whose wife locked him in the bathroom and took off leaving him with only Kshs. 25 to name but a droplet of craziness.
It seems couples thrive on how much they can hurt each other more, it a battle of the sexes in which the biggest fool takes the trophy, yes I  said fool.

married "celebs" are engaging in extra-curricula activities that degrade the value of marriage day in,day out without thinking of the millions of young people who look up to them. Why did you get married anyway??

picture and full story on http://www.nation.co.ke/News/Olympic%20champion%20Wanjiru%20charged%20over%20threat%20to%20wifes%20life/-/1056/1080978/-/93oaq5/-/index.html

The above named fellow is my reason for raving this new years eve morning when I should be blogging about happy stuff.
The world marathon champion,Olympic marathon gold medalist, a Chicago and London marathon champion (quiet an achiever !) Samuel Wanjiru  was yesterday charged in a Nyahururu court with threatening to kill his wife, illegally possessing a firearm and other counts of threatening the couples house help and watchman and harming him.
eish what has marriage come to ???
Just look at the world-reknown fellow, instead of his pacesetter or coach being next to him, it's a law enforcement officer.
He now stands to lose endorsements and appearances because of his actions, just ask Tiger Woods.

Mr. and I were driving back from a funeral when we heard the news on radio, to say we were shocked is an understatement. Lately we have been discussing what ails marriages just so we never find ourselves in a messy situation.
One thing we always wonder is, what happened to the two people who were madly in love with each other they decided to build a home together? even if it was due to circumstances such as pregnancy or arranged marriages, is it not possible to make lemonade out of the lemons otherwise just walk away?

Please people if you trully feel the domez between you and your spouse is irreconcilable, take a bag and pack your stuff and anyone/anything you'd like to take with you and leave with your dignity and respect intact, that way, if ever the two of you get back together, there shall be no ill-feelings and underlying mischief, boundaries will have been established and if not, you will not land in jail for your stupid actions on another human being who might not even be worth it.
Marriage is a wonderful institution that should fill you with joy & happiness, companion & friendship, partnership & security and all the good things that God intended it to be. It has some downs too but mostly ups.

If you are married, make a resolution to enjoy life with your spouse. If you are single, forget the shit fools do, marriage is great.

un muy feliz año nuevo, 2011

they've had an impact on me and others, I hope

As 2010 comes to a close, I wish to  applaud a fraction of the people who have influenced me (to be better) by their words, action and beliefs. Only one of them have I met personally, the rest I just read about them though I admire them immensely.

  • Bushra Ahmed

the most mature teenager I have ever met.

Strong in character, hardworking and true to her faith even when no one is looking.

A wonderful human being, very thoughtful , lots of fun to hang out with.

I pray 2011 brings more boys across her path coz she needs to get out of her cocoon and date !!

  •  Mwenda Kilemi
pictures from http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/InsidePage.php?id=2000008381&catid=159&a=1 and TRUE LOVE

at only 22 (he's now 23), Mwenda become probably the youngest lecturer in Kenya, teaching at the University of Nairobi.
With a Bachelor's degree in political science, Sociology and History (honours), a Masters in Broadcast journalism from one of the best journalism schools globally and working on his PhD, he has quite an impressive resume. He represents the future of Kenya and is a role model to his peers.
his is a story I'll keep telling my children.
I hope he'll be one of my lecturers when I pursue my masters in Journalism at UoN.

  • Martha Karua
 this lady AMAZES me.
I admire her courage to stand strong when grown men are faltering. She faces her opponents head-on and defends her position, even when no one backs her, to the very end.
she has been on a high in 2010 and I pray for greater things in 2011. I believe her time has come to lead these nation and show the men how it done.
and I love her style, always dressed to suit the occasion/event.

  •  Carol Mandi
I admire this lady for her persistent and belief in her brand. She's the most multi-talented media personality I know.
She inspires me a lot

I love my bum, I'll always flaunt it
TerryApril 3, 2010 2 comments

I recently attended a friend's wedding in Limuru, Kenya where my bum became a HOT subject; if the guests had been asked to write a thesis for their doctorates, my behind would have been the favourite topic.

When we (ex-MLians) hit the dance floor, all we could see and hear were camera clicks & flashes, taking photos of ........ yeah, u guessed it right .. yours truly's asset.

I was surprised at how many people take a look at bums. so today I googled; take a look .....

The Physical Properties/Characteristics
of a really nice Bottom…

The Perfect Female Butt has good symmetry, a beautiful form and excellent structure. It is Full, Round, Shapely, Taut, Firm, and High, Plump and Juicy, but yet, still, compact. It is Aesthetically Appealing, with a nice Curvature, A Sleek Form, Beautiful Contours, An Attractive Fall and A Seemly Silhouette.
A great ass or at least a nice one has defined curves. It is Rounded - at both top and bottom or at the very least at its bottom point.
It is Voluptuous - in its appearance to the eye, but yet, still, is neat and trim. It is not Gigantically-Gaudy and Super Flabby but Shapely and Seemly. The Perfect Butt/Ass isn’t Big just to be Big; it is, also, Beautiful, too.
And it isn’t an “Absent Ass” (one that is obscenely small) either. . It has fine lines and contours and an Aesthetically Appealing Shape – regardless of size.
Big (thick) is good no doubt, but it has to be well defined, as well as juicy. It has to be shapely and well contoured, too. And that’s what makes a perfect Butt/Ass!!!

Ladies and gentlemen .... (drum rolls pls) .... I GOT IT !!!!!!!!
LMAO

today ........

If I had a choice I wouldn't have woken up today!  eeeeh, ati if I had a choice???? why do I and lots of others often use this statement yet we all have a choice or choices no matter the circumstance or outcome?
Anyway, I choose to wake up this morning, an hour later than the alarm, to prepare my son for school. I don't have a house-help at the moment but even with her around, I like to get up and keep my son company as he prepares for the day  that way, we can chit chat about nothing, something & anything. sometimes get into an argument.
Feeling 'not in the mood' to do housework, i log on to facebook. this is what I always do when am feeling low, the stuff people post is hilarious and so are friend's photos of  'them days'. today is no different, within a short while, my mood is up and I get on with the days chores
sometimes I wonder if am a good mom/parent, do you? I have noticed every time my almost 3 year old daughter is about to eat, she switches off the TV, radio, music on the comp and has everyone one keep quiet so that she may say grace, makes me feel proud and humbled.
I've done a pretty decent job raising my kids

a step towards my destination
TerryMarch 29, 2010 0 comments

yesterday I went to my old high school together with a team of 'old girls' to start a mentorship program. one of the ladies told the students to identify a goal and each day take a step to bring them closer to what they want to achieve. I felt very challenged by this 'homework' and decided to do it too.
I have long wanted to be a writer and journalist but somehow along the way I let my love & passion to do so drift away from me.
I shall keep my dream alive, I shall
focus on doing something important each day towards MY reaching MY goals, today my journey begins ..............................................................
